The death has occurred of Mary Quigley (née Nolan), 37 Woodlawn Park, Borris, Co Carlow.
Mary died peacefully at her home in the loving care of her devoted family today, Sunday, 10th May 2026.
Predeceased by her husband Noel, son Ger, daughter Helen and grandson Baby Aron.
Mary will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her loving daughters Noreen and Martina, her sons Liam and Shane and son-in-law Seamus, her 21 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, her brother Andy and sister Chrissy, her best friends Mary, Bridie, Breda and Stasia, nephews, nieces and extended family, relatives, neighbours and her many friends.
Reposing in Walsh’s Funeral Home, Graiguenamanagh, (R95 D853) today Sunday, 10th May 2026, until 8:00 pm and on Monday, 11th May 2026, from 12:00 noon concluding at 6:00 pm.
Removal on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 pm from Mary’s home to arrive at Duiske Abbey, Graiguenamanagh, for Requiem Mass at 2:30 pm, followed by interment in Calvary Cemetery.
The Quigley family would like to thank Dr Byrne, The Carlow-Kilkenny Homecare team, her carers and all the wonderful staff in Castlecomer District Hospital for the amazing care they gave to Mary.

The death has occurred of Brigid Higgins (née Whelan), 1 O’Connell Terrace, Mullingar, Co Westmeath.
After a long illness, Brigid died peacefully, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents Kathleen and Jack, her sisters Joan and Rene and her brother Peter. Sadly missed by her loving husband Peter, her daughters Caitriona (Castlepollard), Brigid (Mullingar) and Melissa (Ardagh), her sons Padraig (Scotland), Peter and John (Mullingar), grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters Luie, Veronica, Patricia and Mary, her brothers Dan and Fr Seamus Whelan S.C.A. (Argentina), nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, neighbours, relatives and many friends.

Reposing in Shaws Funeral Home, Bishop’s Gate Street, Mullingar, (N91 RY65) on Tuesday 21st April 2026 from 6:00 pm with Prayers at 7:00 pm. Removal on Wednesday 22nd April 2026 from her daughter Melissa’s home in Lyanmore to St Brigid’s Church, Ardagh, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12:00 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

John Lawlor, Headfield

The death has occurred of John Lawlor, Headfield, Ballymurphy, Borris, Co Carlow.
John, in his 94th year, died peacefully at his home in the love and care of his family on Saturday 18th April 2026. Predeceased by his infant brother Stephen, sisters Bridie and Mary, brother Paddy, and his grand-daughter Annie. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife Anne, daughter Mary (Hurley), sons Pat, Seamus, Shane and Karol, son-in-law Seán and daughters-in-law Aileen, Ann, Áine and Joanne; grand-children Caoibhe, Cain, Ciaran, Keelin, Aoibhe, Ciara, Ella, Jenna, Hollie, Pippa and Eoin; brother Stephen and sisters Lizzie, Josie and Sister Kathleen, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews; extended family, kind neighbours and his many friends.

Reposing at Joyce’s Funeral Home, Borris , R95 DV76, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, 21st April 2026. Funeral will arrive at St Patrick’s Church, Ballymurphy, for Requiem Mass at 11:00 am on Wednesday, 22nd April 2026, followed by interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
