The death has occurred of Kathleen Kelly, Spahill, Borris, Co Carlow, R95 HN8H.

Kathleen passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on 17th February 2024, at Borris Lodge Nursing Home. Beloved mother of Derek and Philip, Kathleen will be sadly missed by her sons, brothers Terence and Maurice, grandchild Ava, son-in-law Lee, daughter-in-law Karen, sister-in-law Eileen, niece Gillian, nephews Richard and Stephen, Terry’s partner Carol, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her home, Spahill, Borris, Co Carlow (Eircode R95 HN8H) on Monday, 19th February 2024, from 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm. Funeral will arrive at the Sacred Heart Church, Borris, on Tuesday, 20th February 2024, for Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Interment immediately afterwards in the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to The Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland or Eist Cancer Support Carlow.

Kitty Byrne, Cournellan

The death has occurred of Catherine (Kitty) Byrne (née Doyle), Cournellan, Borris, Co Carlow, (R95 R272).

Kitty passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at Borris Lodge Nursing Home on Sunday, 28th January 2024. Predeceased by her husband Bill, her daughter Attracta, her brother Martin and sister Mary, also her daughters-in-law Mary and Eileen. Sadly missed by her loving sons Eddie, John and Liam, her daughters Breda (Tracey), Mary (Hanlon), Margaret (Joyce), Kay (Deegan) and Geraldine (Joyce), daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, her twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, very good neighbours, relatives and friends.

Reposing at her residence in Cournellan, Borris, (R95 R272), today Monday, 29th January 2024, from 4:00 pm, and Tuesday, 30th January 2024, from 12:00 noon. Removal to St Patrick’s Church, Ballymurphy, on Tuesday evening to arrive for Funeral Prayers at 7:30 pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday morning, 31st January 2024, at 11:00 am, followed by interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to Carlow/Kilkenny Homecare and Cheshire Home Shillelagh.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Byrne and the nurses and staff of Borris Lodge Nursing Home for the excellent care given to our Mam.

Jim Dalton, Borris
January 22, 2024

The death has occurred of Jim Dalton, Main Street, Borris, Co Carlow.

Jim died peacefully at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his wife Peggy and sister Mary and grandson Oisin; sadly missed by his loving sons and daughters Mary-Teresa, Carmel, Paul, Nuala and David and their partners, sisters Ann and Colette, his nine grandchildren, in-laws, relatives and friends.

Rest In Peace

Reposing at Joyce’s Funeral Home, Borris, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Tuesday, 23rd January 2024, and from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, 24th January 2024.

Funeral will arrive at The Sacred Heart Church, Borris, for Requiem Mass at 11:00 am on Thursday morning, 25th January 2024, followed immediately afterwards by interment in Ballymurphy Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff of Borris Lodge Nursing Home for the wonderful care he received there.

The death has occurred of Kathleen Ryan (née Doyle), Knockmore, Ballymurphy, Borris, Co Carlow / Wexford / Kilkenny.

Kathleen Ryan, Knockmore, Ballymurphy, Borris, Co Carlow, died peacefully on 3rd January 2024 at the
Ashbury Private Nursing Home, Blackrock. Co Dublin.  Beloved wife of the late Jim, much loved mother of Michael, Eleanor, Brenda, Maureen, Patrick and Seamus, sister of Eileen and Esther, and the late Maureen and Margaret. She will be sadly
missed by her sons, daughters, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Tom Ryan, Goolin
January 1, 2024

The death has occurred of Tom Ryan, Goolin, Ballymurphy, Borris, Co Carlow.

Tom died peacefully at Cork University Hospital on 1st January 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Sadly missed by his wife Anne, sons John, Seamus, Thomas and Brendan, daughter Kate, grandchildren, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Tom’s Funeral will arrive in the Church of St Moling, Glynn, (R95 HY49), at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, 3rd January 2024.

The Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, 4th January 2024, at 11:00 am, followed by interment in Ballymurphy Cemetery, (R95 HR28).
