The death has occurred of James (Jim) Doran, Borris Road, Kiltealy, Co Wexford / Borris, Co Carlow / Waterford.
Formerly of Walshsetown, Ballymurphy, Borris, Co Carlow and Ard-na-Greine, Waterford. Jim passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on 25th August 2026. Pre-deceased by his parents Margaret and Michael Doran. Much loved father of Barry, Lorraine, Brian and Leanne, beloved grandfather of Josh, Dylan, Cara, Bonnie and Luca . He will be sadly missed by his children and their mother Mary, his grandchildren, his daughter-in-law Georgina and sons-in-law Paul and Cian. Deeply regretted by his brothers Tom, Mick and Justin and his sisters Breda (Spruhan), Mary (Skelton), Eileen (Ormond) and Nora (Wallace), sister-in-law Jacqui, brothers-in-law Eamonn Spruhan, Noel Skelton, Willie Ormond and Billy Wallace, and his dear friend Ann. Lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, Aunt Ellie, relatives and friends and his four-legged friend Ned.

Reposing at Joyce’s Funeral Home Borris, Co Carlow (R95 DV76) from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Saturday, 29th August 2026, and 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, 30th August 2026. Funeral will arrive at St Patrick’s Church, Ballymurphy for Requiem Mass at 12:00 noon on Monday, 31st August 2026, followed by interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
The family would like to thank the First Responders and the Emergency Personnel for their help and support at such a difficult time.

The death has occurred of Josie (Johanna) Bolger, Shandon Park, Kilkenny / Formerly Ballymurphy, Borris, Co Carlow.
Josie (Johanna) Bolger, (Shandon Park, Kilkenny, and late of Ballymurphy, Borris, Co Carlow) died peacefully on 22nd July 2026 in the wonderful care of the staff at Castlecomer District Hospital. Predeceased by her beloved husband Albert and infant daughter Kathleen. Much loved mother of Fionnuala, Stephanie, Mark and Damien. Josie will be deeply missed by her children, her siblings Lizzy, Stephen and Sister Kathleen, her adored grandchildren Conor, Beatrice, Ewan, Hugh, Órla and Justin, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at Hehir’s Funeral Home, Kilkenny, (R95 FH90) on Thursday, 23rd July 2026, from 5:00 pm. with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 6:30 pm. Requiem Mass on Friday morning at 10:30 am in St John’s Church, Kilkenny, followed by interment in St Kieran’s Cemetery.

Eileen Lawlor, Bilboa, (Formerly Rathanna)

The death has occurred of Eileen Lawlor, Bilboa, Carlow, (Formerly Rathanna)
Eileen Lawlor (née Kavanagh) of Gurtahile, Bilboa, Carlow and formerly Rathanna, Borris, Co Carlow, passed away peacefully, in her 98th year, surrounded by her loving family on 18th July 2026 at her home.
Pre-deceased by her parents Michael and Annie, husband Patrick (Paddy) and infant son.
Much loved mother of James and Lena (Paulstown), adored grandmother of Andrew, Eamonn, Patrick, Niamh, Dermot, Ciarán and great-grandmother of Edward.
Cherished sister of the late Michael, Richard, Teresa and Rita.
Eileen will be sadly missed by her loving son, daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchild, son-in-law Edward, nephews, nieces, extended family, relatives and friends, and especially by her close family friend T.J.
Rest In Peace
Eileen will repose at Carpenter Brothers Funeral Home, Shamrock Square, Carlow (R93 C863) from 3:00 pm on Tuesday, 21st July 2026 concluding with Prayers at 7:00 pm that evening.
Removal from there on Wednesday morning, 22nd July 2026, at 11:30 am to The Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mayo, Co Laois, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12:00 noon. Interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
