The death has occurred of Liz (Elizabeth) Freeman, Ballinasillogue, Borris, Co Carlow.
Liz died peacefully on 20th February 2026 in the presence of her family and under the incredible care of the dedicated staff and doctors at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.
Liz will be sadly missed by her twin sister Margaret, other sisters Mary, Carmel, Ann and Angela and brothers John, Pat and Jim. Sadly missed by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, other relatives and many friends. Remembering also Liz’s late brothers Brendan and Sonny, her mother Margaret and her father Patrick.

Reposing at Joyce’s Funeral Home, Borris, on Sunday, 22nd February 2026, from 3:00 pm, concluding with prayers at 7:00 pm.
Removal on Monday, 23rd February 2026, to arrive for 11:00 am Requiem Mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Borris, followed by interment afterwards in Ballymurphy cemetery.
Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to the MS Society of Ireland.

It is with deep sadness we announce the death of Michael Kavanagh, Corner House/ Clonagoose, Borris, Co Carlow.
Michael passed away peacefully on Sunday, 8th February 2026, surrounded by his loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny. Pre-deceased by his parents, James and Gretta, his beloved sister Jo and nephew Jack. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Josie, his cherished children Marina (Rapley), Fiona (Cullen), James, Camilla (Drea), Liam and Michelle (O’Connor), his adored grandchildren Aidan, Hannah, James, Catherine, Claire, Martin, Michael, Áine, Orla, Jack, Sam, Emma, Amy, Eoin and Sarah, daughters-in-law Breda and Sorcha, sons-in-law David, Dave, Pat and Dylan, nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends.

Reposing at Joyce’s Funeral Home, Borris, R95 DV76, on Tuesday, 10th February 2026 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, pausing for prayers at 7:00 pm. Funeral will arrive at The Sacred Heart Church, Borris, for Requiem Mass on Wednesday, 11th February 2026, at 12:00 noon, followed by interment immediately afterwards in The Sacred Heart Cemetery, Borris.

The death has occurred of Mary Theresa Byrne (née Murphy), Bawnogue, Upper Rathgeran, Ballymurphy, Borris, Co Carlow.
Mary Theresa Byrne (née Murphy), Bawnogue, Upper Rathgeran, died, in her 93rd year, on 5th February 2026, in the loving care of the wonderful staff of Borris Lodge Nursing Home. Predeceased by her parents and brother Tom and her beloved husband Tim. Cherished mother of John, Theresa and Jane. Sadly missed by sons-in-law John and Mick, grandmother to Andrew, Lauren, Rachel, Leah, Ruth, Rosie, Mary, Veronica and Michaela, and great-grandmother to Tyler, Teagan, baby Timothy, Tahlia and Alex and extended family and friends, and not forgetting her faithful friend Rexie.
Reposing in Joyce’s Funeral Home, Borris (R95 DV76), on Saturday, 7th February 2026, from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral will arrive at St Patrick’s Church, Ballymurphy, for Requiem Mass at 2:00 pm on Sunday, 8th February 2026, with interment immediately afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Gahan House and Borris Lodge Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to Mary Theresa, it is deeply appreciated at this sad time.

Theresa passed away peacefully on 3rd February 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of John for 58 years. Very sadly missed by her loving children Siobhán, Sean, Noel and Clare; her adored grandchildren Charlotte, Ellie, Rían, Lucas and Megan; son-in-law Harry, and daughters-in-law Helen and Lucy; nieces and nephews; extended family; and her many friends.
