The death has occurred of Shannon Leitch, Borris, Co Carlow.

Shannon Leitch, Woodlawn Park, Borris, Co Carlow, died peacefully on 28th January 2026 in Carlow District Hospital.  Sadly missed by his mother Marie, uncle Michael, aunt Valarie, cousin Natalie and all his extended family and friends.

Rest in Peace

Shannon’s Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 am on Monday, 2nd February 2026, in the Sacred Heart Church, Borris, followed by private cremation.

No flowers please. Donations, if desired, to Carlow District Hospital who cared for Shannon in his final days.

The death has occurred of Matthew (Matt) Keating, Portarlington, Co Laois / Ballymartin, Borris, Co Carlow

Matt died peacefully on 5th January 2026 in the wonderful care of the staff of Oakdale Nursing Home, Portarlington. Predeceased by his wife Joan, parents John and Mary, brothers Jack and Peter, sisters Mary and Patricia. Deeply regretted by his loving brother Eugene and his extended family and friends.

Rest In Peace

Reposing at Mahers Chapel of Rest, Portarlington (R32 X5XV) on Tuesday, 6th January 2026, from 6:00 pm with Rosary at 8:00 pm. Removal on Wednesday morning, 7th January 2026, at 9:20 am arriving at St Michael’s Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10:00 am. Internment immediately afterwards in St Michael’s Cemetery, Portarlington.
