The death has occurred of Very Rev Fr Pierce Murphy PE CC, Clonagoose, Borris, Co Carlow / Prosperous, Co Kildare / Dublin

Deanery Assistant, former Parish Priest Bagenalstown, Curate Prosperous, Monastereven, Clonegal and Snowhill, Wolverhampton. Former Diocesan Advisor for Religious Education in Primary Schools and member of staff at St Patrick’s College, Carlow.

Predeceased by his parents John and Kathleen and brother-in-law Billy. Deeply regretted by his sister Veronica, brother George, sister-in-law Phil, nieces and nephews, Angela, Susan, Mary, Stephen, Sinead and Royston, grandnieces and grandnephews, great-grandnephew, extended family, Bishop Denis Nulty, the Priests of Kildare and Leighlin, and his many friends.

Reposing at St. Lazerian’s Church, Ballinkillen (R21Y004), from 1:00 pm on Sunday with removal at 5:30 pm to St Andrew’s Church, Bagenalstown. Requiem Mass on Monday at 12:00 noon, interment afterwards in St Mullins Cemetery.
