The death has occurred of Bernard Scully, New York, USA / Headfield, Ballymurphy, Borris, Co Carlow.

Bernard Scully, New York, USA, and formerly of Headfield, Ballymurphy, Borris, Co Carlow, died peacefully on Sunday, 10th January 2021. Beloved husband of the late Patricia Scully, loving father of Maureen, father-in-law of Johnny and grandfather of Sean and Ryan. He will be deeply missed also by his sister Mary (Cloney) and brother Peter (Scully).

Lily Whitty

The death has taken place of Elizabeth (Lily) Whitty (née Holohan), Milltown, Borris, Via Kilkenny

Lily died peacefully at her home on Sunday evening, 10th January 2021, in the loving care of her family.

Predeceased by her loving husband James (Jim), and her daughter Catherine. She will be sadly missed by her daughters Helen (Morgan), Áileen and Lynda, sons Andrew, Padraig, J.J. and Gerard, her sisters Kathleen Holohan, Lowergrange, Goresbridge, and Mary Brophy, Confey, Leixlip, her sister-in-law Breda Whitty, her daughters-in-law, son-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, neighbours and friends.

Rest in Peace

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, Lily will be laid to rest at a private family graveside service and prayers in Our Lady of Lourdes Church Graveyard, Skeoughvosteen, on Wednesday morning at 11:00 am, 13th January 2021.

Richard (Dick) Phelan

The death has occurred of Richard (Dick) Phelan, Mount Sion, Ferrybank, Waterford / Ballymartin, Borris, Co Carlow

Richard (Dick) Phelan, Mount Sion, Ferrybank, Waterford, died on Thursday, 7th January 2021, peacefully in his 96th year, at University Hospital Waterford. Predeceased by his son Brendan. Richard will be sadly missed by his loving wife Helen (nee Fleming), sons Declan and Richard, daughters Ciara (O’Kane) and Noemi (Moore), grandchildren Alan, Stephen, Rachel, Sarah, Alicia and Niamh, sons-in-law Bryan and Roger, daughters-in-law Philippa and Anne, brother-in-law Michael, sisters-in-law Hannah and Nesta, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Richard’s removal will take place on Saturday, 9th January 2021, to the Sacred Heart Church, Ferrybank, arriving for Requiem Mass at 10:00 am followed immediately by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
